It's the oxymoron of oxymorons, a daring challenge of design, research, and tailoring. That is, how to combine fleece, the warmest fabric in the world, yet intended exclusively for sportswear, with the allure of 1950s haute couture, the epitome of feminine elegance in the last century. Two absolute extremes meet in a coat—or rather, a Raptus Coat, which is a coat in every sense of the word. The fleece fabric, the two-way zipper closure, the drawstring cuffs, and the ability to machine wash it at 30°C are typical details borrowed from sportswear. Its flared shape, its armholes, its volumes, its stitching, the trumpet sleeve (which becomes a puffball with the drawstring), its charcoal melange color, and its funnel neck make it a coat that looks like it came straight out of a 1950s tailor's shop.
