A lightweight coat, Raptus&Rose's most beloved oxymoron. Long, flared, with side slits and deep pockets, finished with meters of hand stitching and infinitesimal lace along its perimeter and at the cuffs, it's the perfect ally for every suitcase and every outfit: from the most eccentric to the most chic, from the rocker to the most casual. The skirt fabric is cotton, worked with the wax dyeing technique. This is a reserve dyeing process: the wax is melted and then molded onto the fabric to be dyed. The fabric is then soaked in dye, preventing the wax from covering the design. The waxing and soaking process is repeated for each color. The bodice fabric is cotton, printed using the block printing technique: the desired design is carved into wooden blocks, which are dipped in dye and then placed on the fabric. 🌍 The Afro Bruxelles Light Coat is Made in Planet®. The wax fabric is original African and was purchased in a shop in Brussels. The block print fabric was purchased in a shop in Jaipur. The strap fabric is the precious brocade of Varanasi. The lace was purchased in a shop in New Delhi. The wax technique comes from batik, of Indonesian origins. The block printing technique is of Indian origin.
